Every market on BLAST follows a defined lifecycle from creation to resolution:
  1. Creation: A user defines the market question and submits it to the platform.
  2. Validation: BLAST AI evaluates the market. Markets that pass are classified into Tier 2 or Tier 3 and assigned pricing parameters. Markets that fail are rejected.
  3. Active trading: The market goes live. Users can take YES or NO positions at the current odds. Odds adjust dynamically based on real-time data, and users can buy and sell at any time during active trading.
  4. Trading closes: At a predefined cutoff before the resolution date, trading is halted to prevent last-second exploitation when the outcome may already be known or highly certain.
  5. Resolution: The outcome is determined using the designated data source.
  6. Settlement: Payouts are distributed automatically via smart contract. Winning positions receive their locked-in payout, losing stakes are retained by BLAST, and the creator claims his 1% fee of the total volume generated.
Once a market goes live, nothing can be changed; all market parameters are permanently locked at the moment of creation. This ensures transparency and prevents any manipulation of timing by the platform or by the market creator.
